December 2015 — After the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

When we were selected for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, we knew that we wanted to make it a trip of a lifetime for our students.  That was our goal, to not only have this world class performance experience, but to wrap it in a trip that our students and supporters would never forget and was equally world class.  We vetted several tour companies, but in the end no one could match the experiences offered at the prices that Students on Broadway offered for New York City.

Our kids got a true New York City experience that included a hotel right in the heart of Times Square, walking distance from Broadway shows and restaurants.  The guides were all perfect, incredibly knowledgeable and informative, and genuinely interested in a great experience for all.  We toured and performed in Central Park. We rode the subway with ease under their guidance.  We toured the historic lower end of Manhattan including the 911 museum.  Jerry secured us an unbelievable state-of-the-art indoor rehearsal facility, and having Jeff Beckman there as a knowledgeable, experienced band director liaison was invaluable to me.

Finally, my favorite part of the trip other than the student’s performance, was the way we celebrated Thanksgiving together as a band family.  Jerry arranged for a Harbor Cruise on a beautiful yacht.  The kids were in heaven, as they danced the night away or enjoyed amazing views.

Now that the trip is complete, I am thrilled to say the trip was everything we hoped for and more.  Jerry’s team was so knowledgeable, so focused on great customer service, so concerned about every detail of the trip, that they exceeded my expectations.  My band family was so thrilled about the trip that I heard nothing but glowing reviews.  I recommend them fully and without
hesitation.
